I watched this last night after reading your review and it was fantastic. Easily the best movie I’ve seen probably in the last six months if not more. In addition to all the wonderful things you mentioned the soundtrack was spot on. I thought I heard Kathleen Edwards in there once or twice but I was unable to confirm this on the internet. Also I did spot Larry Appleton! I used to love Perfect Strangers. Especially the episode where they went to Hawaii. I’m fairly certain that series would fail to stand up to the test of time though.

Relax, Sir, you still have a long road ahead if you want to become Granddad. Excellent review. Now I wish I hadn’t dumped Netflix so I could watch this gem. I know how high Goonies ranks on your list, so to put this one even in same arena is testiment enough to its awesomeness.
