Tonantzin Carmelo

As homage to the people who lived in North America prior to Mr. Columbus, I present California Mission Indian, Tonantzin Carmelo. Tonantzin is best known as the American-Indian Girl in Into the West. She was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in the television miniseries. I could not find her birth date, but I think that she’s approximately 28 years old. She began earning money as an actress in a traveling anti-smoking play. Since then, she’s landed major roles in the films 187 Shadow Lane, Unearthed, Imprint, and Shadowheart. She also appeared on CSI: Miami. In addition to acting, Tonantizin released 3 pre-columbian music cds and is a traditional Aztec dancer. She recently finished filming Periphery. Oh, and for those of you who are wondering, you pronounce her first name as tow nawn tseen.

She's one of those people who look better in motion. This vote is based off her appearance in Into the West, which was an incredible miniseries; if you haven't seen it yet, pick it up on Netflix.
