Zenestex.com is a compilation of my blog posts from MySpace.com mixed with new articles
written for the site. On my last MySpace blog post, I spent over two hours wrangling
with the MySpace HTML Nazi RobotTM to get my formatting
right; after which my last article still had random <..’s peppered throughout
the text. So, out of sheer spite, I decided to start my own site where I can control
what in the hell my articles look like. This is nothing more than a big “Fuck You”
to MySpace. There I feel better now.
What in the hell is a Zenestex? Is it for genital warts?
Good question. Zenestex is a name I came up with back in the 5th grade when I was
at a friend’s house playing Dragon Warrior on the Nintendo. This game required you
to type in a character name to begin playing. In the 5th grade all cool made-up
names start with a Z or an X. I figured if that’s the rule, a name
that started with a Z and then ended with an X would surely be the
coolest name of all time. I threw in some random E’s and a few consonants
and the name Zenestex was born.
What's the difference between a Daily and an Article?
A wise man once emailed me that someone who strives to be a good writer should write
something every day. The Daily is my attempt to do that so it's likely to be stupid
and inconsequential. Articles are something that I put more time and effort into.
So they're stupid, inconsequential, and longer.
What's in store?
I put this site up in a hurry so it needs a lot of work. In the next few days I
plan on making the site database driven, improving the look, adding reader comments,
and if I feel really ambitious I may add page titles. My attention span tends to
be short so these could all be empty promises.
(Edit: 7/26/2006) The database and comments are in, but I'm still working
on the graphics and page titles.
