This week’s BTW is Rachel McAdams who was born on November 17, 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada. After starring in an award winning student production in high school, she went on to major in Theater at York University in Toronto. In 2002 she landed the starring role in the movie The Hot Chick—for good reason. You can’t star in a movie called The Hot Chick and not be a hot chick. So, there she’s at least a 7 on my scale and we haven’t even begun to cover the next seven years of her career.
Her true breakthrough role came in 2004′s Mean Girls. Now, I’ve already been crucified for admitting I like this movie when I posted Lizzy Caplan a few months ago. I was dragged into this movie, kicking and screaming, and actually ended up enjoying it. Rachel McAdams, who played the queen bee of an evil chick clique, was a big reason I liked the movie—Tina Fey’s hilarious writing was another. A year later she starred in the love story The Notebook, which despite all its contrived sappiness isn’t that bad. She followed that up by starring in one of my favorite comedies of all time The Wedding Crashers. She has since starred in films such as Red Eye and State of Play. She’ll be appearing in the movie The Time Traveler’s Wife, which opens tonite; she’ll also star in Sherlock Holmes, which opens on Christmas Day this year.
What else? She had a nude scene in The Notebook so there’s another reason to win favor with your better half, rent a love flick, and make it a Blockbuster night. Ms. McAdams also refused to appear in a nude photoshoot alongside Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley for Vanity Fair. I don’t know whose idea it was to get this holy trinity of celebrity hotness together for a nudey shot, but kudos to you sir for the noble effort. Ms. McAdams refused because she doesn’t take nudey photos—she only goes nekkid in character. Wow.. I think having the Demi pic on the same page took down Rachel a couple points. Dang, what the heck happened to her face. Either way, I would say Rachel's square jaw pushes her down to a 7 at best although that one pic of her in pink is hot enough to make me second-guess that. No, a 7 it is.

You know, I like her. Quite a bit in fact. So, dispite a few “design flaws” I would have to say a good solid 9. I agree with the almighty Zenestex though, The Wedding Crashers is one of the all time best comedies.
