This week’s BTW is the lovely Elizabeth Banks. She was born Elizabeth Mitchell in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on February 10, 1974. Ms. Banks grew up in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and attended college at the University of Pennsylvania where she was a Tri-Delt and graduated magna cum laude in 1996. She is currently married to her college sweetheart Max Handelman and converted to Judaism to marry him. How Costanza of you, Elizabeth!

Elizabeth Banks began her acting career in 1998 with small TV roles and independent films. She changed her stage name since there was already an actress named Elizabeth Mitchell (she’s currently on Lost). Ms. Banks played roles in many high profile movies such as Sea Biscuit, the Spider-Man Trilogy, and Catch Me If You Can.

Her real breakthrough role, however, was in 40 Year Old Virgin. In this movie she had an unforgettable scene at the bar with the lead character where she picks him up, booty bumps him, and takes him to her sex lair. Totally freaky and totally sexy. Why the hell did he run away? Him running away totally ruined what was otherwise a hilarious film for me–it’s the only Seth Rogen film I don’t own (I wouldn’t call it a boycott, I just see it on HBO all the time). The other movie she grabbed my attention in was Zack and Miri Make a Porno where she played the lead role of Miri. She is a very similar character in both films: a kinda flighty, freaky, nymphomaniac with an awesome laugh. There was just a lot more of her in Zack and Miri. That’s a good thing! Elizabeth Banks has also played in movies such as W (Laura Bush!), Invincible, Fred Claus, and Slither. Look for her in 2011′s Spider-Man 4! I end with a clip entitled “I’m F****** Seth Rogen.”
